Michelle Keane

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Michelle Keane is an Irish independent politician, entrepreneur and public speaker. She is running in the 2024 Kerry County Council election in the Castleisland electoral area. She is currently the chair of Knocknagoshel Tidy Towns, and the CEO of Mibeau Interiors.

Keane first gained public attention in 2023, when she and various locals protested against the installation of an Eir telecommunications mast in Knocknagoshel.[1] In December 2023, after months of attempts, An Bord Pleanála finally refused permission for the mast to be built.[2]

Keane has been known for her outspoken views, mainly towards the Healy-Rae family. It reached a peak in May 2024, after Michael Healy-Rae visited the Killarney Islamic Centre, where various far-right politicians, including Keane, condemned him for his visit.[3]

In March 2024, Keane announced she would run in that year's election to Kerry County Council, in the Castleisland electoral area.[4]
